To this end, the minister of digital technologies Sherzod Shermatov took part in the semi-annual regional meeting on the Middle East and Central Asia, where the heads and managing heads of more than 20 representative offices of Huawei, founded in Tashkent, gathered.
At the meeting, the minister welcomed the decision to hold the annual meeting in Uzbekistan as the host state for major international events in the ICT sector, taking into account the rapid digital development of the country, creating favorable business conditions for international IT companies and increasing the position of the Republic as a regional leader in strengthening the Uzbek brand.
"Taking into account the 25-year history of cooperation with Uzbekistan, I am pleased to welcome the regional leaders of Huawei in Tashkent this year. The company's contribution to the development of ICT sector, digital transformation and personnel training is of great importance for the implementation of our strategy “digital Uzbekistan 2030” and the transformation of Uzbekistan into a regional IT hub. "All conditions have been created in the Republic for the development of the business of international IT companies, the placement of their business Process Outsourcing (BPO) offices around the world to support the activities of the company, the holding of regional and global events," said Sherzod Shermatov.
During the meeting, Huawei leaders got acquainted with the current Zero Risk program for residents of IT Park Uzbekistan, the benefits that IT Park residents receive for their activities in Uzbekistan and plans to attract international business to Uzbekistan.
As such, the development of projects in the Middle East and Central Asia region, the possibilities of expanding the activities of one of the five Huawei global resource centers operating in Uzbekistan were discussed. It was noted that this will open more opportunities for increasing the export of IT services of Uzbekistan, strengthen the position of the Republic as a center for the development of IT industry in the region.
For information, Huawei has been operating in Uzbekistan for 25 years by implementing important projects to strengthen ICT infrastructure, introduce green technologies into the energy sector and support local talent.
For the first time in August, with the support of the Ministry of digital technologies, Huawei's Seeds for the Future 2024 educational project, which will bring together more than 150 students from the countries of the Middle East and Central Asia, will be held in Tashkent.
